Wellington Inspections - General

Pre-work Meeting

This meeting, usually held on-site, is required by Wellington prior to start of work.

Required:

  • Contractor and Engineer present
  • Copies of Permitted Plans

This inspection is required by Wellington after the work is complete in order to close out the permit.

Required:

  • All test results reviewed by engineer
  • Engineer has submitted certification

Use this to follow up on specific items of work that were flagged by the engineer or the Village of Wellington as needing revision.

  • Items flagged as needing revision are completed

Wellington Inspections - Sand/Riding Ring

Step 1: Subgrade Inspection

This inspection is to observe the subgrade prior to placement of rock or sand.  Filter fabric placement shall be observed at this stage.

Required:

  • Two crew members onsite and materials to conduct a string-line inspection or staff with laser and rod
  • Subgrade has been visibly compacted
  • Any required density testing has been performed with test results submitted to engineer

This inspection is to observe the top of rock prior to placement of the sand layer.  Final layer of filter fabric shall be observed at this stage.

  • Overlap on filter fabric visible
  • Two crew members onsite and materials to conduct a string-line inspection or staff with laser and rod

This inspection is to observe the final grade after completion of the installation of the drainage rock and sand/riding surface.

  • Final grade of ring is complete

This inspection is required by Wellington where the tank is to be inspected, measured, etc., prior to placement in the ground.

Required:

  • Shop drawings submitted to engineer
  • Engineer has approved shop drawings and submitted to Wellington
  • Tank is onsite and above-grade ready for viewing.

  • Shop drawings for materials submitted to engineer

  • Drainage pipe partially installed so that spacing can be inspected.

  • Asphalt mix design submitted to engineer and approved
  • Asphalt testing results as required
